I am setting up a DNN system at a college with a separate sql server.  If I setup an odbc connection, the database and username are definitely good.  Good except for DNN.  I can't get the install to run either locally or remotely.  I do turn off the default website and set up a secondary one which seems to help slow down hackers.  But I setup DNN 3.x before with that secondary website - although then sql was on the same server.  I've gone over the config file many times.  I even setup the default website with no luck either.  What does it mean that it can't find install.aspx when the path is correct in the virtual setup.

Basically from your description it's hard to tell what the problem is. You could have an error in your virtual setup, a permissions issue or even a problem with your connection string. I think if you want some help with this you are going to have to be a little more specific with your post.
