Hi,

Just arrived to the DNN scene.  so please do the newbee thingy.... thanks

I tried adding a C# module (my first one heee heee) to my TestDNN Site and found that there is a method in the codebehind ViewSuperSimple.ascx.cs file (when i created a module called SuperSimple)
called protected void lstContent_ItemDataBound
I commented out everything in between the {...} as shown below and my control still works and displays data in the datalist.

Just wanted to share it with others.

In fact this line gave me errors (strContent was null)
////strContent = (string)Settings["template"];

and there was a known bug about this line (you need to replace both the & with +
// if (strContent.IndexOf("[" + objPropertyInfo.Name.ToUpper() + "]") != -1)

Like so

protected void lstContent_ItemDataBound(System.Object sender, System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataListItemEventArgs e)
{
//string strContent = strTemplate;
//string strValue = Null.NullString;
////add content to template
////strContent = (string)Settings["template"];
//ArrayList objProperties = CBO.GetPropertyInfo(typeof(SuperSimpleInfo));
//int intProperty;
//foreach (PropertyInfo objPropertyInfo in objProperties)
//{
// if (strContent.IndexOf("[" + objPropertyInfo.Name.ToUpper() + "]") != -1)
// {
// strValue = Server.HtmlDecode(DataBinder.Eval(e.Item.DataItem, objPropertyInfo.Name).ToString());
// strContent = strContent.Replace("[" + objPropertyInfo.Name.ToUpper() + "]", strValue);
// }
//}
////assign the content
//Label lblContent = (Label)e.Item.FindControl("lblContent");
//lblContent.Text = strContent;
}

Wow, I've been chasing this problem all day.  I could not figure out why my module would not display the content for the items.  These bugs in the starter kit are really annoying.  If the code isn't required, shouldn't it be removed from the c# starter kit?
