I have added a "Document Categories" list under Host/Lists and then enabed it under the document module settings.  When showing a list of documents and their categories, the "entry value" is what is being shown vice the "entry text" from the list.  The documents module used to show the "entry text" prior to upgrading to the latest version.

Using:

Version:  DNN 4.03.04
Documents Module:  03.01.05

Is this supposed to be this way or is this a bug?  Thanks in advance.

Yes, the "entry value" is what gets shown.

Is there any reason why you set th text/value list items to different values for document categories?  I ask because I want to determine the value of reading the lists table when displaying documents (which would incur a performance overhead).

My understanding is that the standard 'Lists' management has a pair text / value that will be the same in most cases for the documents modules, (and therefore not be very usefull in this case) ; but you could imagine other usages where they could differ :

- programmability, for example monday / 1 ; tuesday / 2 etc

-readability (short text for input, longer text for display)
