Hi,

Could someone please explain me the exact difference between Page Templates and Skins? The way I unerstood it the skin is used to define page framework(html panes) and the design (css). The Page Template is then used to insert certain modules into the skin page framework when a page is created?

By the way: Suppose I need two skins for a site, one for the homepage and one for content pages, which both use the same css file. Do I need to package the css file two times in two separate skin packages or is it possible to package multiple skin files and only a single set of images and css file in the same package?

Is it possible use different stylesheets for IE and FF?

Thanks in advance

A skin defines the look of the page as a frame for the panes where you can place modules. The skin can get applied to the portal or a single page. The modules are displayed in the panes using a container.

A template is a page with settings and predefined modules.

For your skin you can package as many skins as you like into the same folder, see DNN-blue in /portals/_default/skin.
