Hello

Is there any way to switch off the background colour from the text edit section, of the FCKEditor?

The background colour I am refering to is taken from the body of the css file from skin and displayed inside the text editor. The background colour I am currently using on my skin is black and I am unable to view the text in the editor when trying to insert content.

I have tried removing the colour from the body and creating an extra .body class in my CSS file to hold the background colour, but I have found that the background colour does not cover the entire page as well as the css Body class.

Thanks

You can change the editorarea.css. This .css file affects  the editor area only.

Hello locopon

Thanks for the reply.

I tried out your suggestion, but I must be doing something wrong, because I can't get it to work

I transfered the required CSS styles from the skin.css file and edited the editorarea.css with the new styles and the I have adjusted the fckstyles.xml to match.  I cashed my browser. But nothing happened.

I then put the edited editorarea.css file in my skin folder. Didn't work.

 Editor area CSS

I selected URL and File on your site and uploaded the editorarea.css file to the root.
This appeared to work, as I was able to clearly see the text and edit styles as required. Everything looked well whilst editing. But when I finished editing and the clicked on update the newly edited styles are ignored and I see just chunks of text.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I can't understand why you "transfered" some styles to editorarea.css. You requested how to change the background for the editor areas.

The answer is, use the editorarea.css to set the background to white or to whatever you need.

Hello locopon

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry I have not made myself clear. I would like to use my own styles, but without a black coloured edit area.

I transfered some styles to editorarea.css so that I could use my own customised styles without the problem of a black background taken from the body section on my own skin.css file.  Sorry I misunderstood. I thought I would be able to use the editorarea.css with my own styles, instead of my skin.css file.

The editorarea.css already has a body background colour of white, but this does not show when using the dynamic button linking to my skin.css which, contains customised classes, but the background colour of my skin.css is black, which is displayed in the edit area.

Thanks

Lynn
