I am looking at how to adapt a current site into a DNN 4.x setup.

The current site has images as menu items. Reading around, it seems the only current way to use images in the menu is by hard coding them in your skin or writing a menu module to display the same menu code (?? or is there another way ??)

If my assumption is correct then the questions I have are:

1. I am wondering how I get the admin/host menu to show when logged in? Can I add the solpartmenu to the skin and then delete any menu references to any pages I add during development so the only the admin & host menus appear when logged in?

2. Another method I thought of was to use a dynamic flash menu. I already have written a flash file that reads the contents of the web.sitemap in an asp site and displays the heirachical menu - I could add this file using the text/html module BUT where is the web.sitemap file?? Is there an XML file in DNN 4.x that shows the list of current pages? (The same admin/menu issue as described in question 1 then applies to this solution too).

Any help greatly appreciated.

JJ

Hi

It's not clear to me if you need to use flash, or if you see it as a solution.

But here is what I found out (until now)
I guess it's not what you want but maybee it helps....

This post might help you
Here is an example I created (site in Dutch)

Select "Projecten" in the flash intro, then "buiten"

The menubar at the bottom has an image menu
But it's not a dropdown menu (I didn't try yet)
The mouse-overs do not change the image but the transparency.
(By the way, all menu's are "HouseMenu" not solpart)

The images are the icons applied to the page.

I think it should be possible to replace the images on hover with CSS / JS.
