Has any one worked with integrating Google search appliance with DNN?  We are running it on our secure Extranet, (where the only visible anonymous page login page), and when we attempt to set google up for login, it fails.   The setting is that we enter default page for the site, and it should redirect to login page, an we can enter a username and password.  When we enter the default page, it fails return page and google forms authentication returns an error.

Any insight to login redirect would be helpful, as this may be where it is being tripped up.  Thank you very much!

I think we got this initial issue solved.

Setting up the appliance to crawl a forms authenticated site requires that you it go to sites login page so the appliance can capture creditials to use to crawl the site.  It apparently has issues with the ";HttpOnly" tacked onto the path of the language cookie.  The quick fix is to recompile the HttpModule.MembershipModule with ";HttpOnly" removed from being tacked onto the response cookie path.  I'm waiting to hear back from google whether we can turn it back on once we start "crawling".

Hope this helps!

Did you hear back from Google?  (I know this is a very old post)

I'm a DNN newbie (and a non-programmer).  Due to circumstances beyond my control we have to set up our intranet as an extranet.  The built-in search function of DNN just won't cut it so we're considering a google appliance but it sounds like it might not work since all users will have to login with username password.

Thanks,

Jackie
