Hey there!

I am playing around with the ability to add attachments to threads, and it works pretty well. My only complaint is that it shoves all the uploaded files into "Root" by default.

I made an "attachments" folder for people to use, but they have to change it manually, and most of the time they forget.

Having uploaded files all pile up in the root folder is making a big mess.

Anyhow, was hoping I overlooked a solution to this, or at the very least I'd like to enter this as an enhancement suggestion.

Thanks!

I know exactly what you mean. We are we using the core user control URLController. I am actually looking at duplicating this in the forum module itself so I can handle this exact situation, as well as avatar/thumbnail generation using this custom form of URLController.

Hi,

I had the same problem and I found a solution. Can be that it will be appropriate to you too!

As in your case, I have a sub folder of root which contains images. I wanted that this folder is selected directly. By attentively examining the source code of the URLControl module, I realized that control can select the good folder/file which passed in property URL I thus quite simply tried to pass in parameter the folder followed by *.* (Images/*.*) and that functions perfectly!

Hope this help !

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Which file has this URL in it?

Gilles, can you please tell me where you set this in the code and what exactly you did. I understand you are passing in a folder in the URL, but how about a couple code snippets.

Thanks.
