I noticed in VWD that my codebehind pages no longer have a region called #Region " Web Form Designer Generated Code "

For the 2005 versions of .NET do we no longer need the Private Sub InitiaizeComponent nad the Page_Init routines?

What about all the asp.net control variables that I use to declare as Protected WithEvents in my codebehind? I noticed I'm getting errors saying it's already declared, but I can't find the declaration anywhere on my codebehind page. I can't located where the declarations are being made? Anyone have any idea?

Thanks in advance.

in VS2003 your aspx inherited from your codebehind so you had some " Web Form Designer Generated Code ", during compiling you get 2 classes, your codebehind inherits from page, your aspx-page inherits from your codebind.

in VS2005 your aspx and vb file are the same class, actually both are a *partial class* wich get merged in 1 class wich inherits from page during compiling. All the " Web Form Designer Generated Code " is either in your aspx file, or it is completlly hidden from you.

DNN still uses the VS2003 codebehind style, It works in ASP.NET2.0 but it is not the default way of ASP.NET2.0
