I have successfully installed DotNetNuke.  I have also successfully installed the forum module.  However, when I try to place the forum module in a page, I get the following error:

" A critical error has occurred.
INSERT statement conflicted with COLUMN FOREIGN KEY constraint 'FK_dnn_ModuleSettings_dnn_Modules'. The conflict occurred in database 'DB_82957', table 'dnn_Modules', column 'ModuleID'. The statement has been terminated."

I haven't configured a database for the forum, so I assume it has something to do with that; however, I have been unable to figure out how to configure the database for it.  I assume the forum requires a database.  And, yes, I'm a rookie... a pretty intelligent rookie, but a rookie nonetheless.

PLEASE HELP!!!

These version are not compatible. I would upgrade the core DNN to 4.3.4.

I'm having new problems installing DNN 4.3.4.  I'm looking for threads on it now.  Basically, the installation documentation is not very clear which parameters in teh .config files must be revised.  Is the list in the documentation meant to be all-inclusive?

I assume you mean editing the config files for dnn installation, not this module. Please use the general forums for things like this.
