I have a client who wants to request a client's country and region at registration time. The older DNN framework was not as agile in allowing extra fields on the profile edit page, but at least you could make certain obvious fields required/not required  at registration time. For some strange region the register functionality is now set in stone with no way to request some of the "built-in" fields right from the start.

It would seem the philosophy would be to get a user to update their profile after they have registered giving the bare minimum initially. If this is the case, what is the best way to enforce this and would there be any improvements (freedom) when it comes to managing the registration page? This is an extremely important part of any website and something that should not be overlooked.

If there is a way to alter the register page without changing the source for every single client who's requirements are different or buying another module, how to do that?

Is there anyone out there that is also frustrated with the limitations of the existing registration page or am I the only one??
