I have a couple of portals that no longer show the register link does any one else have this problem or know how to get the register link to show up again?

Perhaps you turned off the Registration options in the Site Settings for those portals?

Or did you modify the Skins and remove the user skinobject?

It appears that the registration was turned off. My sensitivity to this problem stems back to an older dnn 4.x build where the registration links just disappered one day.
