Hi,

I've been digging around looking for a button or a token that lets me set the grid sort order.. ascending or decending. There seems to be no way to have a list of numbered items, such as issues of a magazine, display from high to low (new to old) or an alphabetic catalogue display in either direction..

Does this even exist?... and if not, can it please be added as a feature request?

Regards,
Rob

You can sort the grid in one of 4 ways

Updated Date, Downloads, Rating Average, Item Title, or Author Name

The default sore is by Updated Date so the latest items appear at the beginning. You can change the default sort to one of the other options in the Repository Settings page, there's a drop down that let's you set the default sort. You cannot at this time set Ascending or Descending. The tag [SORT] can be used in the Header.HTML/XML files to place a dropdown box in the Repository header that will display the current sort field and allow the user to change it for that browser session ( changes are not persisted once the browser session is closed )

... or 5 ways depending on if you can count or not ;)

Ok cool, thanks for the reply Steve.

The particular scenario I have is an archive of issues of a printed magazine. The date they get added to the archive doesn't reflect the date they were created. Instead, they go back 15 years, but all get added to the Module within the same day. In order to make the archive show some sort of timely sequence, I am relying on naming each issue with the issue number first. The alphabetic sort then keeps them in sequence, but of course it also means that the latest issue appears on the last page of the archive... when of course it'd be handier if it could be made to appear at the start... hence the need to be able to invert the sort order

So if you're running a list of feature requests I'd definitely be keen to see ascending/descending sort order added to it.

Regards,
Rob
