I upgraded my dotnetnuke from 3.3.2 to the new 3.3.4 version.  If I do not log in - all pages are accessible to view but nothing can be viewed or downloaded from any links on the page.  IF I DO LOG IN (as a regular user or as administrator) some pages are not accessible and all links in all modules do not work.  The error message is "You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File".

I have checked everything I know to check.  HELP!!! - my users cannot view anything from any of the links on the site!

I have almost exactly the same problem.  I can download documents when logged in as admin, but not as a registered user. (Documents are listed using the "documents" module.   This also happened with the 3.3.4 upgrade.

However,  oddly enough, there  is one document in the module list that can be viewed/downloaded.

My issue was solved by going into the File manager (Administrative page) and checking that registered users had view rights to the documents folder where these were located.  I also downloaded and installed the newest version of the documents module. Perhaps that will help with yours also?

I have experienced the same problem upgrading from 4.0.3 to 4.3.4.  I have spent the last few days working through trying to get the File Manager to work properly setting the access to the files in their various folders.

Files that should be available to All Users and Unauthenticated Users are not showing up on the Public side of our site.  I found that the Folders table had duplicate entries for about 75% of the folders where the FolderPath ended with '\\' in the duplicate entry.  For example, the row for the Sales folder would have 'Sales\' in the FolderPath column and the duplicate row for the Sales folder would have 'Sales\\' in the column.  The File Manager was displaying the Sales folder in the list only once but every folder had a blank sub-folder with no description and no contents.  After cleaning the duplicate records in the Folders table, the File Manager then displayed the original and duplicated folders of the same name.

I then found that for every folder record that was duplicated, the system had entered a duplicate record in the Files table for all of the files in each folder and duplicate records in the FolderPermission table.  I deleted all of the duplicate entries as well and then the File Manager started displayed correctly.

I am still having extreme difficulty in getting the permissions/view issue to work correctly. It works on some pages and not others. It started working on some things I did not touch and not on others. It has been very trying to say the least.

Any help?

Gary
