I'm having some odd behavior with the active forums module.  I changed the topicview template shortly before it started, which may be related.  Basically when I click on a thread in the forums it takes a few seconds to load, although other pages on the server do not, and the page was very fast previously.  I looked on the task manager for the server and I noticed the CPU going to nearly 100% for a few seconds each time after I try to view a thread.  The page eventually loads like normal but it maxes the cpu out for a few seconds before doing so.

I tried restarting ASP.NET by modifying the web.config file, but the behavior continued.  When I rebooted the server, the abnormal behavior disappeared, but shortly appeared thereafter.  It may be because I was modifying the templates again.  Whats interesting is that the task manager graph for restarting ASP.NET and loading the problematic page looked very similar (the processor going to a high percentage for a few seconds) which makes me believe that the page is getting recompiled each time it is loaded.

I looked in the event viewer and there are no messages.  Are there some other logs I should check?

Any help with diagnosing this problem would be appreciated.

Regards,

Mike

I had this same problem with ActiveForums.  To fix it, I installed the latest release.  So it must be a bug in the version you are using.  Check his web site for the most current release, it may be as simple as an upgrade.

I am using the most current version (3.6.8) with DNN 4.3.4.

What log files can I look at for an error message besides the Event Viewer?

was it a result of changing the templates or did it just happen randomly?

It didn't happen until I placed another instance of the module on a second page and it was on a DNN 3.3.4 install.
