Thanks for the reply Alan.

I believe the problem I am having may be of my own doing, but I fear I am not alone. I was getting hundreds of errors a day in my site log so to try and eliminate the problem I installed the version for the Houston user group.

Could this be my problem?

I wasn't aware of another version of the Calendar...I guess the word is: "Use at your own risk".  I've been trying for years now to get a community effort going so as not to fragment the development of a first class Calendar for DNN.  I am not sure that everyone is aware how difficult is to keep up w/the speed of internet development and especially  the speed of DNN improvements.

At any rate sorry for the confusion.  This release of AVCalendar 3.2 is only intended to upgrade my previous AVCalendar 3.0.10 (on my site www.avanced.net).  I will try to continue improvements, and now have an upgrade path in place.  This plus other features (localization, timezone, etc.) cost more time to develop and debug than other apps...and since I have previously made the source code available to others, there will be a lot of deviations distributed that I cannot support.

Sorry for the confusion,
  Alan

Alan,

I believe you are aware of the work being done by David here:
http://www.dnnapp.com/

His enhancements have been fantastic and he seems to have a clear path for future versions. Bug fixes have been quick and effective. How can we as a community help keep these things together while not slowing down the development and patching process?

David did contact me, along with others who have similary projects derived from the AVCalendar ...many of the things they have done are cool.  However, I've come to understand, after freely supporting this module over the past few years, that it's bigger than one person.  When you look at all the requirements and things that are already included and then look at the list of feature requests...it's huge!  If it's into splintered into several versions, like mine and David's, it will only get worse, confusing the User Community and limiting good, solid support!

What's needed is a coordinated effort.  I signed a DNN Project agreement w/the Core Team over 6 months ago and, in return asked for guidance on how to setup and run a development team to address the growth of the Event/Calendar module.  I stopped working on the module, until I could recruit the help of others...because it was getting too big for me alone to support.  That being said, I wanted to keep from happening exactly what has happened.  Basically, Shaun Walker did the same thing when he setup DNN and the Core Team...I am trying to follow his lead.  I intend to be a part of this project, if allowed, in whatever role is needed and hope that other developers, like David, will get involved in various aspects...

Jeremy White is the owner of this forum and the Event/Calendar Project Lead.  Jeremy was supposed to setup a shared development area and provide us with the guidance and vision on how to run the project...we would then all prioritize, divide and conquer the new features, fixes, and requests.  The hard part is how to re-integrate all of the individual developer enhancements...Jeremy and Shaun have the experience in running a large-scale, across the web,  development project.  We desparately need their help!

I suggest you and others contact him and/or Shaun to help promote the integration of ideas for the Event/Calendar module.

Thanks,
   Alan Vance

Alan, I need some information.

I'd set up a lot of events in DNN 2.1.2, and the update to 3.0.13 pretty much toasted all of them when I went to DNN 3.2.2. I think it was the specific build I started with because I had the same problem with the DNN 2.1.2 update that added the list module.

I saved a copy of the calendar table before the DNN 3.2.2 upgrade, and reimported it into your latest version. You've added some columns, and I'm having a totally whacky problem related to time zones.

The time zone for the portal is set up Eastern time, and the modules show eastern time. But when I log in they show the time correctly, logged out they do not actually showing times like 11:59 instead of the even hour. I assume I'm going to have to do some SQL magic to fix these, but a couple things I've tried still don't work for logged out users. An example is at http://www.twincitytc.org/RaceInformation/RaceCalendar/tabid/31/Default.aspx
