I was thinking about that route as well and I did implement using different config files, but I thought your approach with the single config file was better.

I did manage to get the role options working now and if you are interested in the code you can let me know.

Here is a screen of the options window http://dnn.writer.homeip.net/roleoptionsscreen.jpg

I ran into this problem tonight as well.  I posted on another thread before I found this one buried........ any news on this or projected release?

We are using the default forum option for a production site and need to limit viewing pages/uploading files to root and what not.  We would really like to have this done before releasing so we can go live with the user forums as well.  Any suggestions or projected release dates?

Thanks!

I am not sure if I should be saying this here but Mauricio has asked me to help with the provider.
I have not heard from him for a while now but must believe he is quite busy with other things.

The only option right now to limit the forum users access is to modify the fckconfig.js file.
It is located in the 'Custom' directory of the provider.

The better way to control access is to use a different toolbar for each role you want. For example, you can give a simple toolbar with only a few buttons to allow formating but not gallery browser, etc.

There are currently four toolbars created, and you can create your own custom toolbars (By modifying the file boskone told you).

After all toolbars are created, you can enter the CUSTOMS OPTIONS dialog for the editor and assign roles to each toolbar

Another way to handle permissions is directly on the gallery. you can give view and upload permissions to every folder for each role you want.

So, you have a lot of options to play and combine
