Thanks... Yes you are right... it is about load-balancing situation... We have to set a portal for our ministry of education of our country... and the IT deparment has to set the same configuration on maybe three servers just in case of a failure...

If you can give some hints on how to aproach this or where I can get the information... I will thank you a lot...

We just installed once on a virtual server and another one on a real server... and try to access it via the virtual one and just redirected it to the local...

Thanks.. please give me some answers...

Bye

I believe your talking about load-balancing the installations. So if one server goes down, the second server will take the entire load. In this situation the two web servers act in concert utilizing a common database server.

That's what I want to accomplish.  This way I can assure that if something happens to the file server, the sites still work flawlessly.

Are you using the Windows LB software approach? Or hardware? Regardless, the principle is about the same. I'm not all that familiar with using the Windows LB Cluster software, however I could help you with either if you'd like. Just email (forum profile) me your specifics and I'll see if I can get you headed in the right direction.

How do I configure 2 DNN Servers using the same Databases, but when I enter the last installed server it redirects me to the first installed one, when what I want it to do is to have the same data on both (redundancy).

Thanks

I too would like to do the same thing, only my corporation wants to have two web servers on opposite coasts. We would like the east coast to use the east.orgname.com and the west coast to use the west.orgname.com. Since it is a corporate extranet, both servers will have to be synchronized all the time. I would like to use an external network accessible storage device for the database files and have both installs hit the same database.

I suppose I could enable SQL Server data replication and have the systems operate independent of each other.

Is there any documentation on doing anything like this for DNN?

I know I can cluster servers, but can I cluster them in two different geographic locations?

Does anyone know anything about SQL Server data replication? Is it a viable solution approach?

The greatest obstacle is that I want the AD users to hit their respective web servers unless one is in a failure situation, then I want the AD users to hit the other web server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

John
