I have a DNN 3.3.3 install that I just put the latest version of this forum on. I am getting the following error and having some difficulty debugging it. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Error: Add/Edit Post is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.PostInfo.GetPostInfo(Int32 PostID) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.PostEdit.PostToDatabase() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Ok the problem has been resolved in my installation.

The cause of the problem is that the Forum SQL scripts for the "Forum_PostAdd" stored proc doesn't take into account that an installation may have a different DBO than "dbo". So if you have setup a different DB owner in your web config the stored proc "Forum_PostAdd" will not work correctly unless you go in an manually modify to take into account a different DBO.

That makes sense...so in a hosted environment, is the recommended fix to modify the .SQL scripts prior to uploading and running to reflect the database username we've provided when we use our hosts controll panel?

I guess I wouldn't change the dbo name to a specific name directly. I would use the {databaseOwner} parameter in the script so that the install is as close to normal as possible.

The ultimate fix would be to have the {databaseOwner} parameter added to the scripts in the release install files that one downloads from DotNetNuke.com

You can change the prefix in the db (within the sproc) to whatever the objects are currently using, which is assigned in your web.config and is seen through Enterprise Manager (SQL 2000).
