DotNetNuke Configuration Error
Access to the path 'D:\HOANG\DotNetNuke\DotNetNuke_3.2.2\web.config' is denied.

DotNetNuke has extensive file upload capabilities for content, modules, and skins. These features require custom security
settings so that the application is able to create and remove files in your website.

Using Windows Explorer, browse to the root folder of the website ( C:\DotNetNuke by default ). Right-click the folder
and select Sharing and Security from the popup menu ( please note that if you are using Windows XP you may need to
Enable Simple File Sharing before these options are displayed ). Select the Security tab. Add the appropriate
User Account and set the Permissions.

If using Windows 2000 - IIS5
- the {Server}\ASPNET User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website

If using Windows 2003 - IIS6
- the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE User Account must have Read, Write, and Change
Control of the virtual root of your website

can u help me ?

thank u very much !

I’m receiving this error with one of my hosted sites as well.  I then tried to install locally and received the same error message.  I made sure my network service and asp.net accounts have read/write access; still no luck.  This is fresh db and fresh install of 4.3.4.  Anyone have an idea where I should check next?

Fixed (at least for my install).  Other posts suggest to place a fresh copy of DNN on the server, which I tried and it still failed.  Then I realized that I was excluding the web.config (to keep sql configs) from the install.  Once I copied the web.config file that came with 4.3.4 (updating my sql configs of course), everything worked (except for a nasty log-out problem that seems to be random).  Hope this helps!

I got the same error on my 3.3.5 installation:

Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\DotNetNuke\web.config' is denied.

but C:\Inetpub\DotNetNuke\web.config is present, permissions for ASPNET double checked.

what may be wrong?
