I am trying to make it so links to PDFs on my DNN site require permissions.  I've attempted to do this by using File Manager to create a directory with View Folder permissions set to a specific user role that is for paid users.  Then I upload a PDF into that directory.  Unfortunately when I create a link to this file using either the Links or Document modules, DNN does not enforce the permissions on the folder and the files within and just opens up the PDF to anyone.  I can think of some ways around this but my client would really like to draw users into the links and have them forced to the sign up page, rather than maintain two modules, one without permissions and without links (just titles of documents) and the other with permissions and with links.

Any advice?  Thanks.
