I am very ignorant about DNN so bear with me please. A client has an existing Portal version 3.2.0. They have server A with a test version of the portal and server B with the production version. As a fluke of development the test version, server A, contains much of the content that is desired to be on the production portal on server B. In otherwords, they want to make the production server content mirror the test server content.

If I understand the documentation correctly one can login as host, select the Portals option under the Host menu, and select to export the template - including the content by checking the box for include content. The file that is created is then copied to the appropriate directory on the target server portal folder. On the target server the user logs in as host, selects Wizard from the Common Tasks, and follow the wizard to build the site from the template options below (selecting the one that was exported in the steps above).

Here is the problem:  When this is done, the tabid numbers are all messed up and selecting one option from the menus opens the incorrect content. In short, all content is pointing to the wrong tabid's.

Is there a way to keep the tabids intact?

Furthermore, is there a way to take just a component of the portal such as some documents and "promote" them to another server?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for your assistance.

James
