It's funny no one sees the value in this. There are DNN changes like "groups" to help organize roles, but this isn't really needed if it were done right in the first place. Now it looks like groups will be apart of DNN forever...

Basically, this needs to happen:

- view / edit / deny / delete maybe too?
- user level permissions, not just roles
- UI control to find/select users
- UI control to find/select roles

The UI controls would be like the calendar pop-up, and could be used in a lot of places. User/Role security & management isn't very good considering it is probably the MOST important feature in DNN.

If you need an example, look at how security is handled in Windows, Linux, and Macs. If DNN mimicked both the UI and functionality, it would be golden!

I would like to see the following:

- permissions: view, add, edit (modify), delete  -  for tabs, modules and module-items

- hierarchical roles

- user-based permissions.

Not exactly on the same topic but related to permissions ....  I would love it if it was possible to use the Global roles to apply premissions, that would mean multiple groups can be assigned premissions to pages in 1 step and reduce some of the work in checking page premissions for new groups.
