Yeah - it is difficult.  I have been doing the books but have too many questions. But right now, I am going thru self-taught training through DNN Creative Magazine.  With a $44 subscription, they provide videos and some decent articles - it helps a great deal!   If you have the time, perhaps this is a good solution for the short term.

Learning Tree www.learningtree.com has a course on Content Management Systems.  It might help you.  Full disclosure - I teach for Leanring Tree, but I don't teach that title.

The LT course is on general CMS princpals and has two CMS's in the room - DNN from the .Net camp and ???(I can't remember the name) from the Linux camp.

Good luck - sounds like you have a few other offers too.
