Hey everyone,

I've got a situation that has me stumped and thought I would ask for expert advice for those who may know exactly how URLs are handled. I have went ahead and made a customization to Scott's URL Rewriter and my update seems to prevent certain search engines that used to love me from listing me. Msn still does but yahoo and google do not. I keep track of this stuff and know my previous indexing rate and so something must be wrong with my new url rewrite as it's been a couple months and everything else but these new friendly links get indexed.

I made special rules to simply my links as much as possible with the parameter id formatted such as these examples:

http://www.yapclub.com/dfw/events/668/halloween-costume-party.aspx

http://www.yapclub.com/dfw/night-clubs/515/ghost-bar-dallas.aspx

Here is info on the customization I made to allow this:

Here is my original question on Scott's board:

Anyone know why changes like this will keep me from being indexed? My old friendly url strings with tabids and parameters worked fine. Could it be with the way the page is rendered? Or the url read?

Other than this issue, isn't this urlrewriter cool? So many other sites have such ugly url strings...

Here is a page I found that perhaps offers some more info on this. Is there a rewrite issue with asp.net 2.0? If I recall my hoster recently upgraded to 2.0 but I do not know for sure.

And a fix posted here too:

So not sure of official DNN is affected or not but definitely something to look out for and take into account. Now I'm going to see if I understand all this. :) btw, I am still running 3.1.1 and not 4.x.
