Hi!

I'm new to DNN module programming. I am looking for a function similar to

GetUserPermisionModules(int TabId, int UserId, int PermissionId)

which would return a list of all moduleIds on a specifid tab which a specified user has specified permission to do.

I'm programming in C#. Is there such fuction available from the DNN framework? If not, what would be the best way to implement it (should I go digging through database or use some framework functions, and which ones?)

Also, I can't find any reference document for functions and classes in the framework. Is there a good reference (or tutorial, or SOMETHING)?

Thanks in advance.

There is no method that provides this information.  Because of the way the permission system works you would need to loop through each module for a page and then determine if the user had the appropriate permission.

For Each objModule In PortalSettings.ActiveTab.Modules
    If PortalSecurity.IsInRoles(objModule.AuthorizedViewRoles) = True And objModule.IsDeleted = False Then
'Do your processing here to add this module to a list of allowed modules
    End If
