When a new user register on my site and then log in, he gets the admin option on the different modules on the site. He register from the "register" option on the site, not directly in the forum (can't find that option in the forum).

And I can't see where he creates new threads.

Can anybody help?

Regards

Nobody should automatically have admin rights to a module unless you set Registered Users to Admin for the page or you do that for some modules. In the forum module, giving Registered Users edit permissions on the module level will only allow them to post, not be an admin. As for registration inside the forum, this is NOT and will never be possible as the module uses DNN's security. Make sure you don't mark all the forums as private at the individual forum level unless you want them to be. (This also means don't assign the authorized roles unless you need it to be private)

Arghhhh!!

I know I was stupid, but that stupid.... hmmmm
In an earlier session I had set all users to Editors in the wrong place. But I'm back on track, and thanks for the help anyway.

I have a registered user and when they log in and go into the forums page it is showing the Admin controls across the top and I want this turned off. The settings that I have are the following for the forum:

            View Module   Edit Module

Admin        checked    checked

Reg. User   checked    checked

Page settings have only Admin checked in both columns. I have also verified that the Security Roles for this user only has Registered User and Subscriber roles. How do I turn off the Admin controls?

Please help.

Being a new-bee myself I will try to answer the best I can.

I think the reason is that you have set edit rights to Registered Users on the page instead of the module.
