Hi
As I understand it IIS shuts down the worker process after 20 mimutes (by default) resulting in long initial load times for sites that are not very busy.

I would be interested in hearing how others keep the worker process alive.
There are modules on snowcovered that rely on the scheduler but I cannot see how that can work.

I did once find a post in these forums that led to a "ping" programme however I cannot find the post and I have also lost the file.

There are also services that ping the URLs like www.keepaliveforever,com

I would be very greatfull for any feedback on methods others use.
Thanks
Ian

I use HostTracker its a great free service. Just make sure you point it at /KeepAlive.aspx so you don't funk up your stats.

If you want to run something on your own systems, you can try http://www.smartertools.com/Products/SmarterPing/Default.aspx.  It's free.
