Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.

Is it possible for there to be specific registration? For instance, on our site you can register as;

* One of our Members (only certain individuals)

* Subscribe to our newsletter

* Register to post in our online forum (Registered User).

Now when our members register, I will recognize the name of the individual so that's not a problem, but is there anyway to all a new register-ee to check a box or specify whether or not they want to register for the newsletter or register only for the forums? I think it would be nice for the person registering to be able to select "features" to register for and only check the ones they want. Thank you.

You could do this out of the box but you have to do some of the work by hand

in the profile add a property of something like services and create a list they can choose from - then just set up roles for each service and put them init after you get the registration.

As for automating it would have to work on that

...in what "profile" are you referring to? I think this sounds simple enough once I change this "profile". Thanks

login as host and go to where you can edit your profile or to the 'User Accounts' admin page - you should see 'Manage Profile Properties' at the bottom on the list (at least in 3.3.4 and i think the latest 4. version)

Yeah I just found out I need to be @ DNN 3.3.4 and I'm only at DNN 3.2.2 so I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to get upgraded to that level. Sorry for wasting your time with this as I'm not even up to the revision needed for these type of changes. Thanks...
