Is there any intention of setting this Blog Module up to support something like the blogger or metaweblog api so that clients like wbloggar, blogjet, and qumana, etc could be used?

Tarkin,

we don't have currently a long term road map. We will plan the feature for the future releases after the first official release is published.

Currently we collect suggestions to plan the feature of the next releases.

I will add your suggestion to the wish list.
