I have a project running in DNN 3 that was debugging fine until I tried to install IE 7.0 RC1. Now when I try to debug it gives me an error stating "

"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server. You do not have permissions to debug the server. Verify that you are a member of the 'Debugger Users' group on the server."

I've tried all the Microsoft standard 'fixes' for this. It's not a web.config or project issue as the project was debugging fine before this install. I've got the site (and simply 'localhost') added to my trusted sites, have the IE permissions as low as they can go, have all the directories with ASP.NET full control (as well as Debugger Users full of every member imaginable). etc. etc. I've even done the Microsoft Lsa Registry edits for loopback problems - no help.

The problem is limited to debugging, as I can start the project without problem with 'Start without Debugging'. I'm on IIS 5.1, Visual Studio 2003 SP1, IE 6 (I uninstalled the 7.0) and DotNetNuke 3.1.1.

Any ideas of what 7.0 might have done to my permissions? As with everything, I need this resolved yesterday.

Thanks.

Ok, I resolved this. My bad. The install of 7.0 reset my internal IE settings. I had checked Internet and Intranet but not Trusted Sites. When I changed this back to "Automatic logon with current name and password", my debugging cleared right up.

I'm posting this just in case it saves anyone else some heartburn. Thanks to those who gave this some thought.

Bill
