Hi,

I need to enable users of a documents module to order their documents as they upload them. In the links module, there is a "view order" function, is there a solution for this in the documents module?

Thanks in advance

Carol

You can set the view order of documents by configuring the view order in the settings page.

If you want a "custom" view order, select the "sort index" item from the sort order drop down-list and click "add", then have your users enter a number in the "sort index" field for each document in the document edit page.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, I have followed your guidelines however I cannot see the sort order dropdown-list in neither the basic, advanced nor page settings of the documents module settings page. Should I be on the documents module settings page under module definations(host)? I am using DotNetNuke 4.0.3. I hope you can help.

Thank You

Carol

The "view order" feature is part of the latest documents module release, version 3.0.5.  If you have DNN 403, you will have an old version of the module.

The latest version of the documents module is not compatible with DNN 403, you will need to upgrade to DNN 4.3 before you install the new documents module.  The documents module download page is http://www.dotnetnuke.com/DotNetNukeProjects/ModuleDocuments/Downloads/tabid/827/Default.aspx

Hi

I have never completed an upgrade before. I am a bit weary as I have several different website portals running on the same dnn platform. I am aware that I need to back up the web config and database, but is there a step by step outline on www.dotnetnuke.com regarding DNN 4.3 Upgrades?

Thank You

Carol
