Hi, I'm having quite some problems with the file manager at the moment. It seems that the synchronization is not removing deleted files from the database, causing weird upload/download errors. (I tried emptying out the tables, resync, but that messed up all the file/folder keys, but downloading and uploading went perfectly again. As far as i allways figured, synch also tracks files deleted from disk, or do i have to go now through a few thousand files to make sure which ones to delete from the file manager ? (deleted files show up in the file manager as having a data of 1601-01-01 and attributes ARSH, but these seem to be read from disk, not stored in the DB) Thanks for any help in advance.

I have had some problems with file system and the database getting out of sync for the portal.  In the database there were entries for folders that did not exist in the portal root, can't remember if I deleted these or if these ghost folders were never there.  The folers in question are templates, images and movies under Portal/0.  Once I manually added these folders, the module exception that I was getting when trying to load file manager for the portal went away.

My question is this. It seems that when I either add or remove a folder in File Manager, the changes are almost instantaneously made to the database.  I know this because I monitored the folders table while adding and deleting folders.  So what does the Synchronize Folder do?  Also what is the difference between Standard-File System, Secure-File System and Secure-Database options in the folder dropdown?

I am running DNN v3.3.5
