I've had this same problem, and have installed VS2K5 on various servers, all with the same result. I do not use VWD. I have tried moving the project and item files into numerous other locations under the: c:\documents and settings\andy\VS2K5\Templates\Items and Project templates...and I still cannot ever see an option for a DNN web site, Skin object or DNN Module. Can someone who has had this problem just tell me exactly where to place these files for vs2k5? I've tried everywhere, but it just doesn't show up, and I'm really not interested in having to build all my own code. What I've been forced to do is to take previous projects from 3.x, go into the project files and change all the values--that's the only way I can get a DNN project up and running, and it's killing me. Is there a version of the starter kit explicitly for v2k5? Or some kind of instructions, based on the default location for project templates and item templates, where these files should be located? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've spent the last two months scratching my head why I cannot seem to be able to accomplish this.

Ok.  I figured out what I was doing wrong.  I'm used to the old DAL program from Bonosoft.

For any others that have this issue, you have to add existing website, and open the DNN website/virtual directory solution.  Only then, and only if you right-click on Solution Explorer, and select Add New Project or Add New Item, will you see the DNN Templates.

My only issue (and it's a small one), is that I would rather not have all the code for the website in my module solutions.  I'd rather just be able to reference the DotNetNuke.dll, as I believe a number of people did in previous versions.

But it works, and that's what counts.
