Hi,

I'm having problems with the events module.  I've added a user and set a role which I called events, assigned the new user to that role.  Then set edit permission for that role in the event module settings on my page.

I log in as that user, navigate to the events page, select add new event and instead of getting the add new screen, it goes back to the login prompt screen.

Anyone know what's going on here?

Thanks!

Dennis

In case anyone else experiences the same problem....

I moved my portal over to a new server, so far awesome response time, unlike the previous hosting provider which took a minute to load sometimes and sometimes just didn't load.

Calendar updates worked correctly with a non-admin user.

I have domain forwarding turned on for the domain to go directly to the portal, with the url masked.

When I forwarded the domain over to the new server, the problem came back.  For now, I'm just instructing the users updating my calendar to use the full subdomain url.

Thanks for following up...

1) What hosting provider did you move to? It's very hard to find unbiased reviews of DotNetNuke hosting providers.

2) Have you ever noticed that the option to edit categories does not appear for a non-admin user who is authorized to edit the module?

Hi Derek,

1) What hosting provider did you move to? It's very hard to find unbiased reviews of DotNetNuke hosting providers.

I moved over to webhostforasp, I've gotten better response times for initial loads.  They also provide lots of disk space, sql server backups, etc.  And for a very reasonable price of around 4.50/month.  They don't handle subdomains the same as other hosts I've been with.  Theirs are more of a redirect I think.  All went well until I tried installing front page extensions so I could upload an application into a 'subdomain' / application folder thru visual studio 2005.  I gave up on that and put the app on another hosting plan I have.  I'm sure its doable, but just didn't have the time to troubleshoot it.

2) Have you ever noticed that the option to edit categories does not appear for a non-admin user who is authorized to edit the module?

We haven't used the categories feature yet so I haven't experience that problem.

:)
