Hello,

I'm trying to add some custom HTML to the footer portion of the forums, right by where it says "Page 1 of 1".  Could somebody please tell me where I have to add this?  I'm basically looking to add a google banner :)

Thanks in advance!!

Everyone has their requirements but to be honest this makes no sense to me. It seems you would simply do one of two options (neither of which involves altering the module). You can either:

  • Edit Module Settings, use footer html here.
  • Create a content pane in the skin below the module area.

There are two reasons I suggest this:

1. Putting a banner there will look horrible if you mean the actual footer area next to Page 1 of 1.

2. Not doing as I suggest in 1 or 2 above will result in you constantly having to alter the module source code.

Crispy,

You are basically stating the obvious.  I'm not looking to run into an arguement here, I'm simply asking for where I could do this at.  The module settings and skin pane areas are not an option.  If you don't want to disclose this for whatever reasons, that is your choice.

Tim, you need to eat more fiber.

To make this happen you need to edit ForumPost.vb or ForumThread.vb, depends where you want to show it exactly.

I've located what files, just not where exactly to edit things.  I think I have the areas right, but when I test things, I find I'm wrong.  Do you know what specific areas?

I tested around here:

            If (pageCount > 1) Then
                RenderPostPaging(wr, pageCount)
                wr.Write(" ")
            End If

But when adding a wr.Write("TestTest") for a test, nothing shows up after recompilation.

And yes, I eat plenty of fiber :)
