Hi all!

Can anyone of you brilliant developers out there create a free module for the Department of Homeland Security pull-up ASP script? Basically it shows in real time the current threat level via color coded gif images.

I have set it strategically in our intranet where it can be viewed immediately as the home page loads.

We really need these kind of modules in these troubled times.

I am planning to put it in our new intranet run by DNN 4, but have no idea how to post it.

I have the script  if anyone is interested in developing the module. It runs via a Server.CreateObject("Msxml2.ServerXMLHTTP") string.

Thanks,

Allen B.

I'm interested and I'm surprised nobody has done this yet.

Dear Djamell,

Sorry for the late reply, got busy,anyways,here is the script. Basically under classic ASP, it it is called in the /scripts directory via asp script declaration in a div statement. You can position it anywhere via CSS positioning. The size of the image determines the width of the div plus left and right margins. I just don't know how to create it as a module in DNN. I just tweak it under the DNNs external HTML module via inner HTML. You can use any five (5) gif colors as samples to simulate the script.

******** CODE BEGINS HERE **************

<%
Dim objXmlHttp
Dim strHTML

Set objXmlHttp = Server.CreateObject("Msxml2.ServerXMLHTTP")
objXmlHttp.open "GET", "http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/getAdvisoryCondition", "False"
objXmlHttp.send
strHTML = objXmlHttp.responseText
Set objXmlHttp = Nothing

Dim objRegExp
Dim objMatches
Dim strContents, strMatch

strMatch = "(LOW)|(GUARDED)|(ELEVATED)|(HIGH)|(SEVERE)"
strContents = strHTML

Set objRegExp = New RegExp
objRegExp.Pattern = strMatch
objRegExp.IgnoreCase = True
objRegExp.Global = True

Set objMatches = objRegExp.Execute(strContents)

If objMatches.Count > 0 Then

Response.Write "" & vbCrLf
Else
Response.Write "
No Threat Level Detected.
" & vbCrLf
End If

Set objMatches = Nothing
Set objRegExp = Nothing
%>

Good Luck,
