This has probably been asked before but I couldn't find anything as of yet... I was curious if it is possible to host multiple web sites from 1 DNN install, versus setting up multiple DNN installs and databases?  I am assuming someone developed a module for this but could not locate one.

Greetings.

Actually, this is MUCH easier than you think... and was one of the very first enhancements to DotNetNuke.  Once installed, DotNetNuke will answer to ANY url (website) that is directed to it (by IIS).  You can associate multiple URL's with one portal, or you can add different portals and associate url's with them.  This is the entire basis for the difference between a Portal Administrator and a Host Administrator.  URL's are associated with portals, so I invite you to investigate the help associated with Portals here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/About/DotNetNukeOnlineHelp/tabid/787/TID/1338/cid/109/Default.aspx

So if you have two url's, try configuring DNS so that they both point to the IP address of your DNN install and then assign one url to each of two different portals.  You'll see that DNN completely handles the logical separation for you.  Each portal maintains its own set of user / portal data and remains completely independant of one another.

Cheers,
Scott
