Which version of 3 did you use?  I tried 3.3.6 and it has problems.

If this question was for me, I have 4.3.6 running on a 1and1 MS Business Plan.

I was actually trying to get an answer from jmelcher, who said he had version 3 running just fine.  I have not been able to get version 3 or 4 to work.   It sounded like you were still having a lot of trouble with version 4.  If you have version 4 working with out problems, then I will give it a try.  Is your RAISE site running version 4?

I don't see a message in the thread that gives a final list of steps to follow, I am assuming that it is the normal install, except you are doing it in the root rather than a subdirectory.  Is that all there is to it?

Larry,

I have 4.3.6 running.  Just to let you know, I started with 4.3.5 then upgraded to 4.3.6 when it came out.  I had ALOT of problems when upgrading.  I think a fresh install is easier.  I think if you try installing in the root, it will work.  I don't want to screw you up though.    I can't speak for everyone else, but I followed the steps in my post.  Others have gotten it to work without installing it in a subdirectory.  The only problem I have at this time are the forums get an object ref not found error every now and again.  This is because of the cache being flushed by the app domain restart problem.  The rest works like a charm.

The big things are:

Make sure you give write/modify access to all the folders for the network service and iusr accounts via your webfiles application

Sometimes, the web.config can't be written to, so you need to manually make changes to the web.config up to and including putting the code subdirs in the web.config

 <codeSubDirectories>
        <add directoryName="Reports" />
        <add directoryName="Survey" />
      </codeSubDirectories>

Another problem people have noted is that the site.config doesn't get copied from the subdirectory to the root.  You might have to manually do that.

Good Luck...

Frank,

Do the object ref not found errors in forums go away on their own, or what?
