Hello All,

Just started with some skin work and I was wondering if it is possible to include a module in your skin.
IE. I want the UsersOnline module to be displayed on the left corner on every page. I could then offcourse make a ContentPane and add the UsersOnline module on a page using the admin login and check 'display on all pages'.
This works to some degree, the module gets translated the correct way and only parts I want to show are displayed. However it somehow doesn't get displayed on every page, for example on certain admin pages.

So I thought I might be able to just include it directly in the skin template using
<dnn:USERSONLINE runat="server" id="dnnUSERSONLINE" />
This does work but it just adds the module with default settings, it doesn't get translated and every display option is enabled. Anyway to get some more control via the skin template or am I doing this completely the wrong way?

I don't exactly have a real answer for you but I'll throw the word "skin object" your way to help with your search.  A skin object is what you need instead of a module.

That said, depending how the module was designed, perhaps you could pass some of the configuration parms as name/value pairs as attributes of the tag (ie. <dnn:module name=value />).  However, I doubt you'll find that's the case with this module (but do check the docs).

If you're a programmer then you might try taking the code and converting to a skin object.

Brain, thanks for your reply.
I searched and didn't find any possibility to pass on the configuration via the tag attributes to this specific object.
So I'm afraid that If I want to include the object in the skin I will have to figure out some programming myself.
