Hi

I set up a DNN site, when I do performance test use "microsoft application center test", everytime the server will be 100% cpu, I tried on different servers(all are windows 20003 + sql 2005, just server hardware are different), all gives me the same result. The weird thing is even I recyle the app pool of DNN application, the w3wp.exe still running with 100% cpu and even I stop the performance test for a while, it keeps 100% cpu, until I kill the w3wp.exe in task manager. I tried to use iisdiag to debug it, but no useful information, so anybody knows what happens?

Thanks a lot
Mike

Hi Mike,

which caching strategy did you choose? I experienced 100% CPU with "no cache".

Hi fabianus

I choose the default one "moderate cache". Also I have taken a look at the cpu time of sql process, it's quite normal, just w3wp.exe will eat almost all the cpu time. So then i am worried about how many  concurreny requests my server can support, it has 2G ram and p3 3.2 cpu.

Does anybody use any performance test tool(especially microsoft application center test) on DNN?

Are you testing a plain vanilla installation of DNN with no third-party modules?

AS you probably have thought there are many causes to this.

Make sure your timeout is set high just to eliminate this as an issue.

go to database and make sure your performance setting didnt get changed somehow.

Do you have the scheduler running?

Make sure your app pool setting is set to 1 per pool

Is there any custom  JS?
