If my members want to use the forum module, they have to register another time in the forum, even though they've already been members of my web page.

Can I fix this, so that my members have to register only 1 time?

What do you mean by "use the forum module".  Is it just read or post new topics?

If is is just read then please review your module's security settings to see if the concerned DNN roles had at least read access to the module.

If your users need to post topics in the forums, you will need to go the "Manage Forums" menu and manage your forum's user access control through there.

Users cannot register to the forums itself; they must register at the website level, and then they would implicitly be members of the forums. In your case i guess you're using an another forums module. If that's true, you should inquire its author for support.

I think I understand what you are getting at.  The user does not have to register a second time to use the forums module but they must visit a page w/ an instance of the forum module on it at least once before an administrator can configure settings per user in that module.  This will not change because we basically extend the user object and can only do this once they visit the page, otherwise we would have to modify DNN core which is not going to happen.

What about my child portals?

Is there anyway that my child portals' members can post and read content in the forum without registering in the parents' portal?
