Hi

I have battled 3 days with this error "Webform_PostBackOptions' is undefined" which is an old error with lots of posts.
What happens is that validation scripts on the page postback do not run and the button becomes unusable. So you cant add a new Tab / update a module def , change a password etc etc.

However despite carefull reading and applying all suggestions - nothing fixes the problem on my dev machine.
I have:

    1) This suggests copying: WebResource.axd to root of web http://www.inventua.com/blogs.content?EntryID=5
    2) This suggests AcquireRequestState needs to be set to false
   3) been thru the Cathal posts in the 20 pager: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/27037/threadpage/2/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Tried all suggestions and no luck so far.

I have a vanilla 4.3.5 install with XP Pro and SQL 2000

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Do you have Blowery Http Compression installed? If so, then you will need an exclusion in the config file to get this to work.

make the exclusion without the leading W and all lower case.

Hi John

Thanks for your reply. I do not have Blowery installed.

The problem still persists after after 3 more vanilla installs and trying of various things.

I guess that it is something on my PC that is wrong - PLEASE can some one suggest any patches/updates that I may be missing in XP Pro / IIS  / Frame work that may possible be causing this.

The same error occurs with Firefox.

Check your application mapping in IIS to make sure that the .axd extension is mapped to ASP.Net

Thank You John.

That was it at last. Pretty obvious now that I think about it.

 webresources.axd was never logged by Fiddler in my tests.

Adding the IIS Mapping fixed it.
