Hi all, I have made a simple (HTML/XML) skin and forgot to assign a [MENU] placeholder. Once applied I can't go back since there's no way to go to the skin menu once logged in as admin or host? How do I solve this? I hope there's a better way than going into the database, but if there isn't then pls. let me know how!  TIA

You are not the first to do this... worse is when you set up a login page and don't allow unauthenticated users to see it!

Make a copy of your skin files, then delete the skin from disk.  Browse DNN and it will open with the default skin (and an error saying it can't find your skin). Then you have control again, and you can fix your skin & re-upload.

Another option is to manually add the dnn tag to the .ascx file that was created when you upload your skin... Which will give you give you the menu (may not look like you want yet), but at least it gets you started.

You'll need this tag at the top of your .ascx file:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="MENU" Src="~/Admin/Skins/SolPartMenu.ascx" %>

Then one like this whereever it's supposed to go:
<dnn:MENU runat="server" id="dnnMENU" />

I have thought of all the options and I found that simply using the Site Wizard gives the opportunity to return to the DNN-Blue skin. Of course this may get tricky with already advanced sites but for me this worked. Thanx for the replies though, they may get useful in the near future :-)
