I'm new to DNN. Installed 4.3.2 in August for a project where we needed a content manager. It was working pretty well when we encountered a problem that an upgrade would fix. Thinking that from 4.3.2 to 4.3.5 there probably wouldn't be any major changes, I upgraded the core and all the modules to the ones in 4.3.5. So far so good... but

Now the file manager doesn't let you upload multiple files. That was a nice feature in 4.3.2. It worked well.

So today I needed to upload a bunch of files to the same folder. I figured I'd try the "unzip" option since that would be faster than uploading one file at a time. It didn't work. Some error about not being an object (nothing in the log unfortunately). So I tried again. Different error-- essentially duplicate file name. So I look in the folder. Sure enough there it is. Hey... there's an unzip icon there too. Click it. Sorry-- sorry, can't do that either:

Error Moving File:Portal Root\\NT03\\Class 5.zip   to Portal Root\\NT03\\
Conversion from type \'DBNull\' to type \'Integer\' is not valid.

So I'm back to uploading one stupid file at a time.... this is frustrating.

Have you tried deleting the zip folder that errored?  It seems like something got messed up there, and you need to try again.  I would try uploading a zip with the "Unpack" option, and uploading without and then unzipping in the File Manager, if that doesn't work (though they both work fine on my 4.3.5 install).

You may need to delete the instance from the database instead, if the file manager isn't working.  Do you know how to do that?

I've tried more than once to delete and upload the file with or without unzipping. It uploads whether or not the box to unzip is checked. It never unzips whether uploaded with the upzip option or trying to unzip after the .zip file is uploaded.

I have this gut feeling, and it isn't good, that the upgrade from 4.3.2 to 4.3.5 messed up the database somehow. This isn't the only thing that's not working right. I'm just not sure what to do about it. We have 5 portals defined. 3 of them we could lose everything and not care. The other two are live, so going back 10 days to 4.3.2 data would cause significant data loss to its users. Obviously I should have thought to test more-- including a bunch of features I wasn't using yet. So now what?

I'm not sure what you mean by "delete the instance" or what the ramifcations are to doing it. I'm open to any suggestions that don't involve losing the data on the site. I guess spending half a day restoring and re-creating the data isn't the end of the world on this portal. But the other one... I'm not sure I could re-create it.
