Maybe I've missed something, but I can't find a way to make the site use British dates, & as American dates look just like British dates for just under half of each month, this is going to be a showstopper, as the users will not be able to cope with dates around the wrong way.

In case anyone is unfamiliar with British dates (as I can't find the word 'British' in any of the forums), British dates are formatted like this: 15/10/2006 = 15th October 2006 as opposed to American dates which are formatted like this: 10/15/2006 = October 15, 2006.

Of course, it is only when displayed only as numbers (e.g. 15/10/2006) that it really matters, as for just over half of each month, there's no way of telling from the data which format it is in.

So can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

Thanks,

Though I've never had to mess with it myself, I believe that the culture is set in the <globalization> tag in the web.config.

dates would be determined by the Culture element, while the uiCulture element determines UI labels.  you would need to set those to "en-GB" for British values to be used.

I've now got the following:

    <!--  GLOBALIZATION
  This section sets the globalization settings of the application.
  Utf-8 is not supported on Netscape 4.x
  If you need netscape compatiblity leave iso-8859-1.
  UTF-8 is recommended for complex languages
  -->
    <globalization culture="en-GB" uiCulture="en" requestEncoding="UTF-8" responseEncoding="UTF-8" fileEncoding="UTF-8" />
    <!--<globalization culture="en-GB" uiCulture="en"  fileEncoding="iso-8859-1" requestEncoding="iso-8859-1" responseEncoding="iso-8859-1"/>-->

But still I see dates like this:

Statistics Updated On 10/16/2006 10:15:58 PM

... rather than:

Statistics Updated On 16/10/2006 22:15:58

Anyone know what I'm missing?

I've since change the uiCulture attribute too:

uiCulture="en-GB"

... but still no change.
