Sorry, all I know is that he fixed something in the SendMail method for DotNetNuke that had to do with a change in .Net 2.0.

After looking closer at what you posted, I don't think that is what it was though.

I know that smtp authentication works under .Net 2.0 though, so I'm not sure why you are having a problem, but it may be your specific SMTP server.

Did you ever get this figured out - I am having the same problem.  I used my outlook settings and it is not working.

 I have installed DNN 4.0.3 and it is working correctly without any error messages.

 

I have tried to setup the SMTP Server settings and test this but I get a Failed Sending Mail message.

 

Can anyone help me?
