I installed DNN a while back and everything worked.  Now I just realized that it's only working on my Intranet and not the Internet because the site is configured to use my local domain name, not my public domain name.  So I logged in as SuperUser and was hoping I could change the host name for the site but there is no edit/change button for "Host Name" under "Site Configuration."  How do I change this?

Secondly, I originally installed the complete DNN package with source but am now thinking I should have just installed the binary package (no source.)  What would I need to do to switch?  How does one backup and restore the site settings and portals if they want to do a new install?

to change the host display name login as host and click on your name near the "logout" link to enter your profile.

If you need to change your login name you need to create another superuser account (in host menu), enter the new host in host settings and delete the previous one.

to get advice, how to delete source code, please specify the dnn version you installed.

I think you are asking about changing the address of the site rather than the Host user. In DNN this is called adding a "portal alias". Log in as a super user, go to Host > Portals, edit your portal and go to Portal Aliases at the bottom of the page. You can add another address for the site through the menu here.

Yes, this is what I tried to do and there is no edit button next to the "HTTP Alias" name.  On a second portal I created, there was this button, but not on my default/main portal.
