When a column of type Download is sorted, the sorting changes but it does not appear in correct ascending or descending order. For example, this list has been sorted in ascending order by Form:

  Form       Last Update
  FORM8.doc 3/6/2006
  FORM19.doc 3/6/2006
  FORM13.doc 3/6/2006
  FORM18.doc 3/6/2006
  FORM5.XLS 3/6/2006
  FORM45.doc 3/6/2006
  FORM27.xls 3/6/2006
  FORM23.xls 3/6/2006
  FORM4.doc 3/6/2006
  FORM30.doc 3/6/2006

Could it be that the list is being sorted by FileID number not file name?

Please confirm this is a bug and if it will be fixed in a future version.

It is sorted by the link provided by linkclick.aspx and therefore by the encrypted FileID

It is by design of the data grid, I would not call it a bug. I don't think that this can be fixed.

After one dreamless night I wake up and know the solution:

If we add a comment <!-- filename --> in front of the download link, sorting must act like wanted. I will give it a try.
