Hi all,

I also have the same problem with the multiple calls to GetUserByUsername. Also integrated the patch DNN AD Fix on my DNN version 335 ... and nothing, still the same problem

In my case and this is a new feature that must have your attention, user is accessing a private area, then users are requested to login in AD, meaning that I have a public area (internet) and a private area (extranet).

So in IIS, hi have to configure the portal for anonymous access, but need to authenticate the user in AD when he wants to enter in a reserved area.

Any solution?

Glen - I can safely tell you that it DOES work on 4.3.5 on IIS6, and on W2K3R2.   There is something in your configuration that is not quite right, but I've looked through your description and it does sound like you did it correctly.  There is always one little teeny-tiny step that gets overlooked that makes it a show-stopper.

NetLipe - What you need is a "mixed-mode" system, so your setup is going to be slightly different.  Follow some of my other posts, I've described it at least a dozen times.

Thanks for you reply

I have stepped through the following instructions: http://www.getyourowntots.com/Default.aspx?tabid=57&EntryID=218 and my set up is the same.  If there is a better set of instructions can someone point me to it.

My AD has all users under a single OU called "Company Users", and broken down further under this OU into other OU's e.g. Sales, Marketing, etc..  I have pointed DNN to the parent OU and got a green triangle stating that everything with AD integration is fine.

I tried turning off Windows Synronisation and that didn't work.  I have however noticed that DNN found "two domains" when I entered the AD settings.  Could this be the problem?

I have seen several threads on this problem and no solution.  I haven't seen anyone who has had this problem and actually solved it.

I'm getting really desparate here. Can someone give me any guidance, and help would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Glen

I left my Root Domain entry blank (to authenticate to the root domain), give that a try.

I left the Root Domain clear as suggested and the Authentication reported everything okay.  It still doesn't work though.

Any other ideas are welcome...

Glen
